Copmanthorpe Methodists
Rev. Dr. Maurice Staton has retired from ministry and no one has been appointed to replace him. Copmanthorpe Methodists will be without a minister for the for seeable future however they will be overseen by Penny Worth. Jdg 17:6; 21:25 ?
The congregation holds morning worship each Sunday at 10:45, with evening services at 18:30 on the second Sunday of the Month. Sunday School is held during the morning service. There are also various weekday meetings at both the church and home venues.
The Church has a good membership and a typical Sunday morning congregation of 80. The Sunday school is around 30 strong.
Youth and Children's groups
The Church has clubs and groups for Children and Young People covering all ages from 0 to 15.
Praise and Play meets on a monthly basis, 10:00 on the 2nd Friday, and is for pre-school children and their carers. Sparkles meets on an ad-hoc basis once a month on a Sunday afternoon at 5 for an hour and is for children of school years reception to year 3. Genesis is a weekly club for children of school years 4, 5 and 6 that meets in the churches upper room on a Wednesday evening for an hour from 6:30.
Rock Solid is a Friday night youth club for young people in school years 7 to 9, it's an hour and a half long from 7:30 every Friday night during term time. RS2 is a youth group which meets each Tuesday evening at 7:30 till 8:30 for young people in school years 8, 9 and 10. Mettle, a group for young people in year 10 and above folded in late 2007.
